The East Haven Police Department (EHPD) has made three arrests in relation to a pedestrian struck incident that occurred in the area of Glen Haven Drive and Thornton Drive on Sept. 3.
At approximately 9:33 p.m. on Sept. 3, EHPD officers and East Haven Fire Department (EHFD) personnel were dispatched to the area of Glen Haven Drive and Thornton Drive for a report of pedestrian struck in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers located a male party underneath a vehicle suffering from serious injuries. EHFD personnel extricated the male subject and treated him on scene before rushing him to Yale New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed that the incident occurred after a physical altercation took place between two groups of people who knew each other. During the altercation, the driver of a Honda Accord, later identified as Anthony Kosko, 29, of Glen Haven Road in New Haven, accelerated his vehicle toward the pedestrian, striking the pedestrian and trapping him underneath the vehicle. Kosko fled the scene on foot immediately following the incident, but returned a short time later to speak with officers. He was immediately detained while officers further investigated the matter.
The EHPD stated that the condition of the pedestrian was unknown, adding that identification of the pedestrian will be forthcoming pending notification of next of kin.
Kosko was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the EHPD for processing. He was charged with assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and evading responsibility resulting in serious injury. Kosko was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to face a judge on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in New Haven court.
Two other people were also charged in this incident. Erin Lisej, 35, of Stratford, was charged with breach of peace in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.
Tyler Paolini, 29, of Trumbull, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Lisej and Paolini were released on $2,500 bonds and are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13 in New Haven.
