08/04/2023 07:22 AMOn Aug. 1, the Essex Board of Education voted to appoint David Kitzman as principal of Essex Elementary School, effective Aug. 7. Kitzman has served nine years as an elementary and middle school teacher, three years as a middle school assistant principal, and five years as an elementary principal, and he is currently the director of Early College and Career Pathways at ReadyCT where he served for the 2022-’23 school year.
Superintendent of Schools Brian J. White said, “I am confident that Mr. Kitzman will meet with success in his new role and lead the Essex Elementary School community into its next chapter.”
Kitzman’s appointment is the culmination of an extensive search and interview process in which a diverse population of stakeholders was invited to participate, including community members, staff, Board of Education members, and administration.
