Hyland House to Host Historical Walking Tour
The Hyland House Museum will host a guided walking tour with Museum President Bob Donahue on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. The tour will include the interesting stories and architectural histories of some of Guilford’s most intriguing buildings.
The tour begins inside the 1713 Hyland House at 84 Boston Street with a comprehensive private interior tour. The tour will then meander down Boston Street and onward toward Park, over to State Street, and end at Lovers Lane. Get the chance to learn fascinating information about other prominent homes and public meeting spaces that bore witness to Guilford’s socially impactful events.
The tour includes an interior visit to The Kingsnorth-Starr House, Christ Episcopal Church, The William Starr House, and The Joseph Weld House. The Joy Benton House, the Stephen Spencer House, and the Third Congregational (Abolitionist) Church will also be featured.
Proud homeowners will be on site for questions and are likely to have some delectables to sample!
