No Swimming: Heavy Rain Closes Branford Beaches, North Branford Lakes

As of the afternoon of July 18, swimming continues to be closed at Branford beaches and North Branford association lakes monitored by East Shore District Health Department (ESDHD), per water quality testing.

The beaches have been closed since July 16 due to heavy rain fall. According to information shared at ESDH’s website, where there is are over 2 inches of rain, beaches close for recreational swimming due to the risk of high bacteria levels.

Branford beaches closed by ESDHD are: Branford Point, Clark Avenue (Short Beach), Stony Creek, Hotchkiss Grove (Private).

North Branford beaches closed by ESDHD are: Cedar Lake, Linsley Lake.
