06/30/2023 09:20 AMPress release from Essex Winter Series
The Essex Winter Series (EWS) is grateful to be one of nearly 170 recipients of The Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund (CAEF) grants for 2023.
The grants support the ongoing mission of the EWS to bring the finest musical performances to the widest and most culturally, economically, and socially diverse audience possible in the Connecticut River Valley and Shoreline region during the winter months. The timing is perfect as EWS Artistic Director Mihae Lee finalizes details for the organization’s 47th season of classical and jazz concerts to begin in January 2024.
For this year, The Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/COA administered $846,233 in CAEF grants. These funds provide general operating support that organizations may use toward programming, administrative or operational costs, capital projects, equipment, or to build their own endowments.
The CAEF was established by the Connecticut General Assembly as a way to stimulate the development and long-term stability of Connecticut’s arts industries. This fund is managed by the Office of the State Treasurer and is administered by the COA.
