Whiskey and Cigars Coming to McCusker Landing
Anyone looking for a way to kick back and enjoy the views of the Indian River while enjoying a cocktail should look into the Clinton Chamber of Commerce’s Whiskey and Cigar Gathering at McCusker Landing on June 20. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event costs $45 per ticket. According to Chamber Executive Director Paul Orsini, attendees will gather at McCusker Landing (the gazebo behind Town Hall), where they will enjoy four whiskeys from Wheelhouse Whiskey and two cigars. The available cigars are AVO, Rocky Patel, and Davidoff brand cigars. The money raised from the event goes toward supporting the Chamber.
Tickets can be obtained by calling the Chamber at 860-669-3889. In the event of rain Orsini said the event may be rescheduled. Soft drinks and light appetizers will also be served.
“It’s a great social event that is different than our normal networking events. Those events, you usually get just Chamber members, but at this, we’ll get people from around town that aren’t Chamber members coming,” Orsini said.
The event was held for the first time in the summer of 2022, and Orsini said it was a great success except for one thing: the weather didn’t cooperate. “It was still really well attended, and people had a great time. Last year we had great weather all week except for the night of the event; go figure. We did the whiskey inside and then had tents outside for the cigars. This year we might just postpone it instead of doing the tents,” Orsini said.
Orsini said the idea for the event came from a desire for the Chamber to do something different than the normal member networking events and to do something outside in the summer months.
“It’s something we always wanted to do, and then last year was the first year we actually did it, and it went well. Hopefully, this continues to be an annual thing,” Orsini said.
This year, Orsini said he’s hoping for no rain and good attendance.
“I hope people come out and the event is right around sunset so you take in the views and relax with friends while trying some great whiskey and cigars,” Orsini said.
