Song Strong 5K Race on June 3

The Keep Kids Safe SongStrong 5K is scheduled for Saturday, June 3 at the Guilford Fair Grounds, 111 Lovers Lane, Guilford. The arrival time is 8:15 a.m. The SongStrong 5K celebrates the life of Ethan Song, who passed away in January 2018 at the age of 15.

All proceeds go to the Ethan Miller Song Foundation, a non-profit that develops and supports Ethan’s causes and programs that keep kids safe, including those that inform about the dangers of opioid abuse, texting and driving, and promote gun safety and advocacy.

The Song family and SongStrong race team invite you to run or walk in the annual SongStrong: Keep Kids Safe 5K. This event features panoramic views of Long Island Sound and the historic Guilford Green. After the race, participants can enjoy food, drinks, animal exhibits, face painting, non-alcoholic beer, music, a trophy ceremony, and much more.

Registration is available online until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3. No paper-based entries will be accepted on race morning. The registration is $30 for participants under age 15 and $35 for ages 15 and up. The Kids Fun Run is $10.

Advance race number pickup is on Friday, June 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ashely's Ice Cream, 942 Boston Post Road, Guilford. Race day check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. The Kids Fun Run starts at 9:45 a.m., and the 5K starts at 10 a.m. An award ceremony is at 11 a.m.
