Press Release from Cindy Golia, North Haven Garden Club

On May 19, a few members of the North Haven Garden Club, along with Gianna Onofrio and Mateo Onofrio, planted a white oak tree at the island on Fitch Street and Rock Road in memory of the late Jan Tracey. Tracey was a longtime member of the North Haven Garden Club who passed away on April 20. A memorial plaque will be placed at the base of the tree at later date.

The island is in the first stages of the planting of three garden scapes. The first is underway at the top portion of the island by Montowese School. Gianna Onofrio, with help from members of the North Haven Garden Club, will be instrumental in the designing of the garden on the island.
