World Cultures Programs Are Back at Essex Elementary School

After a long pause to the annual program during the pandemic, the Essex Elementary School Foundation (EESF) is pleased to announce the return of the Justus W. Paul World Culture Program at Essex Elementary School. Throughout the 2022-’23 school year, students in the second and third grade participated in three programs dedicated to the countries and cultures of China, India, and Haiti.

Haiti Day was the most recent of the daylong programs, held on April 21. The celebration included an opportunity to learn about Haitian culture, traditions, and art, and was presented by Haitian-born EES parent JP Poullard. A musical demonstration presented by a three-piece Caribbean band followed with students participating in limbo dances and taking turns on the steel drum.
