Meet Authors, Shop, and Dine: Branford Book Festival on Saturday, May 6
On Saturday, May 6, visit Branford’s Main Street shops to meet many local authors, shop, and dine, during the first Branford Book Festival, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some fun activities with authors will also be underway the Blackstone Library from 3 to 5 p.m.
In a press release shared earlier at Zip06, this new event is being organized by Judy Doyle, proprietor of Miss Judy’s Emporium, a former Main Street shop, and Jack Matthews, a local author whose novel Arte Perdida has received rave reviews. At last count, 47 local authors have signed on to participate, said local author and event participant Bob Crelin of Branford.
The co-organizers are working with Branford Economic and Business Development Manager Perry Maresca to help bring the community out to visit with authors in person while also providing a great opportunity to help support local merchants and restaurants. Authors will be happy to discuss their work, and books will available for purchase and signing.
