Madison Newcomers Club Touch a Truck at Surf Club
The Madison Newcomers Club is hosting its 14th annual Touch A Truck event on Sunday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Surf Club in Madison. The event includes a firetruck, ambulance, crane, dump truck, mini race cars, several food trucks, a local family favorite musical group Sunny Train, local youth performers from Limelite Dance Studio, and more.
Last year’s event was so successful that the club added a free shuttle bus for parking convenience that will run throughout the event. The shuttle will pick up/drop off passengers at the Madison Commuter Lot, off Exit 61/Rt 79, and run continuously from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parking at the Surf Club is limited, and shuttle use is highly recommended.
There will be more than 30 sponsors and local businesses supporting this year’s event, including platinum-level sponsors Bluebird Wealth Advisors, Madison Rotary Club, and SXS Transport/Straight Jacket Motorsports. Gold-level sponsors include Silktown Roofing, Tyco Print, and Forever Homes.
All proceeds benefit the Madison Newcomers Scholarship Fund, which provides multiple scholarships to civic-minded graduates of Daniel Hand High School.
The Touch-a-Truck is Sunday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Surf Club, 87 Surf Club Road, Madison. Admission is free, but donations of $5 per person or $20 per family are requested. The first 200 guests or families with a $20 donation will receive a free swag bag; limit one per family.
