East Haven Ready for Winter Storm
The town of East Haven and the shoreline area are expecting a large storm that is expected to bring 2 to 4 inches of wintry mix along the shore and 4 to 8 inches of accumulation starting on Monday, Feb. 27 and continuing into Tuesday, Feb. 28. Mayor Joseph Carfora said that East Haven’s Public Services and Public Safety departments are prepared to handle the event and that Public Works will be pretreating the roads ahead of the storm. The mayor’s office is advising people to stay off the roads or be careful if choosing to venture out.
There will be a parking ban in East Haven that begins at the start of the snow event, immediately when the snow begins to fall. All vehicles will be required to be parked in off-street facilities such as driveways in places where those types of off-street facilities are available. The parking ban will remain in effect during the entirety of a snow event and continue until 36 hours after the it has ended.
