Weapons Displayed During Attempted Catalytic Converter Thefts in North Haven

On Feb. 22, the North Haven Police Department (NHPD) responded to two different catalytic converter theft attempts in which weapons were displayed.

At 9:15 p.m., a witness confronted a man who was attempting to cut off the catalytic converter from a car in the parking lot at 100 State Street. The suspect displayed a handgun prior to fleeing the scene.

Then at 10 p.m., two men were spotted cutting off a catalytic converter from a car in the parking lot at 350 Universal Drive. When confronted, the suspect pointed a saw at the witness before fleeing in a small silver sedan.
