The onsite Veterans Day Celebration returned to North Branford High School (NBHS) on Veterans Day, November 11.

Veterans were on hand to speak to students during the event. Chris Reynolds (NBHS Technology and Engineering Education Teacher) and the NBHS Wounded Warrior Organization sponsored the event. Veterans were on hand to speak to students during flex time by grade.

Student members of the Wounded Warrior Organization greeted visitors during their morning arrival with a continental breakfast. The NBHS Music Department provided patriotic music during the event; and a luncheon for the veterans was provided toward the close of the school day.

Visiting veterans included: Paul Ludington, Navy, 1980-1986 - Cold War; Craig Yerkes, Navy, 1958-1971 - Vietnam War and 6-Day DR War, George Pfeiffer, Navy, 1960-1964 - Vietnam War; Chuck Larkins, Airforce, 1967-1971 - Vietnam War; Hugh Meehan, Army, 1980-2002 -Operation Just Cause (1983), Operation Urgent Fury Panama (1981), Desert Shield and Storm Iraq (1991), Iraqi Freedom; Anthony Mastrino, Marine Corp., 1952-1954- Korean War; Bill Savastano, Army, 1964-1966- Vietnam War; Stephen Shonn, Army, 1987-1993; Gary Tercyak, Navy, 1966-1970 - Vietnam War- 3 combat tours; Eric Bickelhaupt, Army, 1995-1999; Timothy Corcoran, CT National Guard, 1979-2004 -Iraqi War, Gulf War, Cold War; Sean Connolly, Airforce,1989-1993 -Gulf War.
