Branford Rotary Club Hosts Veterans Luncheon

On Saturday, November 12, the Branford Rotary Club hosted its annual Veterans Day Luncheon at the Branford Congregational Church Hall.

Veterans from different local veteran groups are invited to the luncheon including Take a Vet Fishing vets. The entire event is sponsored by the Rotary Club. A complete Thanksgiving dinner is served and enjoyed by everyone with plenty of leftovers to take home.

This year the local Girl Scouts and Interact Club high school students assisted the Rotarians in serving dinner.

The veterans also presented several homemade quilts to its members. In addition, a quilt was presented to Rotarian and veteran Peter Cimino for his work with Take A Vet Fishing Veterans.

In addition to the Thanksgiving luncheon, the Branford Rotary Club sponsors a Take a Vet Fishing Day at Killam’s Point each summer.

For the past two years, the annual luncheon was not held due to Covid.
