Speaking with Zip06/The Sound on Election Day, Candelora, a North Branford resident, said he was particularly grateful for the continued support shown by North Branford residents not only for his own candidacy, but for Republican candidates as a whole.
“I don’t see that changing. The town has leaned toward the Republican party,” said Candelora. “The town’s been under Republican rule locally for a long time, and at the state level. I think the community has tried to be really fiscally responsible and provide appropriate growth...I think they just like what the party has offered them over the years.”
In Hartford, Candelora was elected as House Republican Leader in the past term. More from Candelora’s Election Day discussion with Zip06/The Sound can be found in the story Leaning Into the Positives: Candelora Earns 9th Consective Term in Hartford
