The North Branford High School (NBHS) World Language Department organized a field trip to visit some New York City (NYC) landmarks as an option for students enrolled in Spanish and Italian courses at NBHS this semester.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, a group of 41 students and 4 staff members traveled to New York to tour Ellis Island, Little Italy and view the Statue of Liberty. Students also visited the Tenement Museum, a museum dedicated to celebrating immigration and historical immigration stories dating back to 1860 through the 1980’s.

Department Chair Jen Tzetzo organized the trip with colleagues from her department. The trip departed the NBHS campus at 5:45 a.m. and returned by 9 p.m.

Students and staff enjoyed the educational trip and were fortunate to experience spring-like temperatures while visiting NYC.
