Election Night Returns: Guilford
Guilford voters headed to the polls on Nov. 8 to cast their ballots in the state elections. Incumbent Demcratic State Senator Christine Cohen was challenged by newcomer Republican Paul Crisci for the 12th District, and the open seat for the 98th State Representative seat vacated by State Comptroller candidate Sean Scanlon, were put to the vote.
In Guilford, Cohen received 6,233 votes while Crisci received 3,734 votes.
Republican, Richard DiNardo ran against Democrat Moira Rader for the 98th State Representative seat. In Guilford, Rader received 5,225 votes to DiNardo’s 3,161.
In the balloting for the referendum as to whether to adopt new early voting protocols, Guilford residents voted in favor of the Constitutional amendment measure by a 6,020 to 3,131 margin.
Vincent Candelora (R), who ran unopposed in the 86th District which includes a small portion of North Guilford, received 952 votes.
These are not the declared winners of these races as votes from other towns and districts are tallied to declare a winner. These vote totals also do not included Election Day Registrations (EDR), which according to election officials, number less than 100 total votes for all Guilford districts.
