11/07/2022 09:39 AMOfficials in Deep River are on the lookout for a holiday tree to brighten up Main Street for the season in advance of the Town’s Vehicle Light Parade and Holiday Stroll on Saturday, Dec. 3.
In previous years, residents have donated fir trees to be set up outside of Town Hall. This year, according to a press release from the Town, several trees have also been offered.
“We are also thankful to have received offers for this year, however the trees offered, although beautiful, are not quite big enough to be cut down,” the press release reads.
The Town is seeking a tree that is at least 25 feet tall and on a resident’s property.
The Vehicle Light Parade and Holiday Stroll, an annual tradition in downtown, features the tree lighting, a visit from Santa, gingerbread house contest, fire performers, an inflatable snowglobe, carolers, the Deep River Historical Society’s Festival of Trees, and more. The Parade and Stroll are on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m.
For more information or to offer a tree, call Joyce Berardis in the Selectman’s office at 860-526-6020, option 1.
