Police: Northford Resident Victim in Fatal Crash

NORTH BRANFORD: On Sunday, Oct. 16, North Branford Police Department (NBPD) shared the identity of Northford resident Jeffrey Defranseco, 40, who died as a result of a three-vehicle accident in town on Saturday, Oct. 15.

“Our heart goes out to Jeffrey’s family, friends and loved ones,” NBPD posted, in an update to an Oct. 15 press release reporting the accident.

According to police, NBPD and North Branford Fire Department (NBFD) responded at 8:46 a.m. on Oct. 15 to a report for a serious motor vehicle accident in the area of Forest Road (CT-RT 22) near Gulf Brook Drive.

Arriving officers located a three-car motor vehicle accident, at which time it was noted “...the operators sustained serious injuries, one operator sustained minor injuries and one operator sustained life threatening injuries.” NBPD noted emergency services performed “extraordinary life saving measures” to assist Defrancesco, who was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he did not survive.

“NBPD grieves in this tragic loss with the family, friends, first responders and the North Branford community,” the department stated.
