‘Boats, Beer and Barbecue’ Sails Out of Stony Creek
Press Release, Stony Creek Museum
A grand fundraiser with a delicious barbecue was held on the waterfront property of Ted and Tina Ells in Stony Creek on September 16, leaving behind a treasure chest of possible programs the Stony Creek Museum can host in the future due to the generosity of our sponsors.
The display of unique and head turning boats delighted kids and adults. The Stony Creek Museum has always promoted education and partnered with schools to engage children with our local history.
We feel “out of the classroom” experiences are important inspirational teaching tools. Now, with this successful fundraiser we can offer more enriching programs to our community.
The Stony Creek Museum is open to the public free of charge 1 to 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday, seasonally. We are open to groups all year. The mission of the museum is to collect, archive and exhibit items which reflect the unique history, culture and community of Stony Creek and the Thimble Islands. Go to our website stonycreekmuseum.org for more information.
