Orchard House Annual Duck Race Oct. 9 at Stony Creek Brewery

The ducks are coming: The Orchard House’s fun, fundraising Annual Stony Creek Duck Race, Sunday, Oct. 9, 1 to 4 p.m.
The race takes place at Stony Creek Brewery, 5 Indian Neck Ave. in Branford. Ducks drop in the Branford River beside the brewery at 3 p.m.
A short time remains to purchase tickets for your entry to win over $2,000 in prizes. Each ticket purchased is a 1-Duck Entry into the race. Proceeds benefit programs and services provided to area elderly adults by non-profit Orchard House Adult Medical Day Center. Learn more at theorchardhouse.org The Orchard House serves those from the communities of Branford, North Branford, Northford, East Haven, Guilford, Madison, North Haven, Wallingford, West Haven, New Haven, and Hamden.
This duck race has become a way to not only bring the community together for some fun, but also, a way to create funding for The Orchard House that will allow them to help more people, spread more awareness, and change more lives.
So please join us for some fun on Sunday, Oct. 9. Bring the whole family. Kids will love the carnival games and prizes they can win; cupcakes donated by Petonito’s Pastry and cookies donated by Rocco’s Bakery. There will be tables with free merchandise from sponsors, such as Planet Fitness and Artis. WPLR’s “On the street with Jimmy Rap” will host the event. Topline Rentals has donated their time, efforts and machines to launch the ducks from the Indian Neck Avenue bridge. Port Security will be in control of the water to maintain the safety of our ducks against the tide.
