Agricultural Commission Maps it Out
Guilford-Come on out and celebrate the updated Guilford Farm Map with your local farmers this Saturday the 20th. This new brochure provides all the details on Guilford’s farmers and the products available at their stands.
According to the organizers, the Guilford Agricultural Commission, the project is designed as a forum for connecting the community to their locally grown and raised food and products right in the neighborhood. The event is scheduled to start on the Guilford Green, where residents can meet and greet with their local farmers and then head off on a tour of a select number of farms open for the day so you can find all of their delicious and locally grown products.
According to, Guilford Agricultural Commission Member Schuyler Beeman the project has been in development for several years.
“We’ve been working on updating the old Farm Map for a couple years now and recently received a grant from Connecticut Grown to put on this event, which we hope will be the first of many connecting the community with their local farmers,” Beeman said.
According to Beeman, this brochure has a map of Guilford that denotes where exactly all the farmers are plus descriptions of each farm and what they produce. Some of the participating farms include; Arbor Farm, Olympia Farm, and the Tripledale Farm.
The vent is this Saturday, August 20th, with a Rain Date of August 21st. Farmers Exhibits on the Guilford Green will be open from 11:00-1:00 and the Open Farm Tour will be open from 12:00-4:00. Participants must provide their own transportation for the farm tour.
