Valenti Appointed North Branford Acting Town Manager
At its Aug. 2 meeting, the North Branford Town Council appointed Town Clerk Lisa Valenti to serve as Acting Town Manager as of Aug. 6.
Mayor Jeffrey Macmillen thanked Valenti for accepting the additional role at Town Hall while the Council is in the midst of conducting its search for a new town manager.
Valenti has served as North Branford’s Town Clerk for many years. In 2003, as North Branford Town Clerk, Valenti was named the Connecticut Town Clerks Association Clerk of the Year.
The Council voted unanimously to have Valenti appointed Acting Town Manager beginning on Aug. 6 and continuing in the position until a permanent replacement can be hired.
Outgoing Town Manager Michael Paulhus, who gave his final Town Manager’s report to the Town Council on Aug. 2, was also thanked by Macmillen for providing nine years of service to the Town and all Town Councils seated during his tenure.
As previously reported, in June, Paulhus notified the council of his decision to take the position of Town Manager for the Town of Plainville. His last day on the job in North Branford was Aug. 5.
In related news, also at its Aug. 2 meeting, the Town Council accepted the resignation of Town Planner Eric Knapp, who was hired in October, 2021. Knapp has accepted a position as Land Use Coordinator for the Town of Old Lyme.
