Shoreline Arts Alliance Receives Grant from M.J. Petretto Foundation
Shoreline Arts Alliance has received a generous $5,000 grant from the M.J. Petretto Foundation. This important funding will help Shoreline Arts Alliance expand its summer leadership initiative program to students across the state of Connecticut. The M.J. Petretto Foundation is dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations on the shoreline provide more services, programs, and support to the public. Each year the M.J. Petretto Foundation hosts an annual golf classic at the Clinton Country Club; this fundraising event helps support organizations and projects just like Shoreline Arts Alliance.
The Leadership Initiative program was implemented in 2019 by Shoreline Arts Alliance as a rebirth of the internship program, designed to give students an educational, safe, and affirming environment to develop their art, express themselves through any and all art forms, and to develop their own leadership and management skills along the way. The funding from the M.J. Petretto Foundation will allow Shoreline Arts Alliance to continue this program into 2020. This grant gives more students opportunities to safely express themselves outside of school.
