Participants will gather at 10:40 a.m. for the parade lineup. In case of inclement weather, a Memorial Day Ceremony will be held in the Clinton Town Hall Auditorium at 11 a.m.
While many folks may think of Memorial Day as a long weekend that marks the unofficial beginning of summer, Diedrich said it’s important to remember the actual meaning of the day is to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
“We want to be able to honor those who lost their lives because freedom isn’t free, and it’s a chance to honor the veterans that are still with us,” Diedrich said.
Diedrich estimated the parade would take about 30 minutes.
“It’s a way to kick off summer, and we hope to have as many veterans as possible marching with us,” Diedrich said.
