Extreme Cold is Here; Branford Warming Centers Open Jan. 14 - Jan 16
January 14: As frigid temperatures are expected to impact our area over the weekend, the Town of Branford has announced that the following locations will serve as warming centers during this extreme cold event:
Branford Community Center located at 46 Church Street will remain open on Friday, January 14 until 9 p.m. and reopen on Saturday, January 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
James Blackstone Memorial Library [758 Main St.] will remain open Saturday, January 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library [146 Thimble Island Road, Stony Creek] will be open on Saturday, January 15 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 16 at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Do not visit any of these facilities if you are sick or have been in close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 10 days.
All visitors must adhere to the following COVID-19 Safety Protocols:
· Use hand sanitizer upon entry.
· Wear a face covering at all times while inside the building (unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing one).
· Practice social distancing at all times and maintain a 6 foot distance between you and others.
Failure to comply with the above protocols may result in you being asked to leave the facility.
