The 2021 Municipal Election in Westbrook
With election day on Tuesday, Nov. 2, Westbrook voters are gearing up to make their voices heard. The Harbor News has a sample ballot as well as a roundup of all the races.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Teresa Mulvey Municipal Center, 866 Boston Post Road, Westbrook.
Absentee ballot applications and ballots can be obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office by calling 860-399-3044. In addition to voting in person, all voters are allowed to vote by mail again this year due to COVID-19.
The Races
For first selectman, voters can choose between Democrat Chet Bialicki and Republican John Hall.
For the Board of Selectman, voters can choose between Republican Joseph Campbell and Democrat Vince Gentile.
For the position of town clerk, voters can choose between Democrat Joan Angelini and Republican Nancy Giannini.
Republican Jane Spanilo Butterworth is running unopposed for the position of town treasurer.
Republican Kimberly Bratz is running unopposed for tax collector.
For the Board of Finance, voters can choose up to two of Republican the candidates. The candidates are Democrats Tommy Burns and Greg Farnoli and Republicans Karl Gelotte and Paul Winch.
For the Board of Education, voters can choose up to two of the candidates. The candidates are Republicans Donald Perreault and Andrew Miesse and Democrats Haifa Jalil and Mary Ella Luft.
Republican Linda Nolf is running unopposed for the Board of Assessment Appeals.
Republican Phillip Basset is running unopposed for the Planning Commission.
Republican Harry Ruppenicker Jr. is running unopposed for the Zoning Commission.
Democrat Jack Boehme is running unopposed for the Zoning Board of Appeals.
For the Library Board of Trustee, voters can choose up to three candidates. The candidates are Democrats Kathleen Cietanno and Jodie Oshana; and Republican Katherine Holbrook Richard.
