Saved on the Historical District Committee.
Other Government Service
36 years with the United States Postal Service. Recently retired.
What led you to seek this office?
I was asked to run by friends that I admire and respect. A little dubious at first and after subsequent conversations I became extremely excited to run. When friends that you admire and love see something in you that you didn't see in yourself maybe you should listen. After talking it over with my wife Olga we decided to go for it. I'm very flattered and having recently retired I decided this this is a next great chapter in my life.
What are your qualifications for this position?
Working hard has always been something I'm proud of. I'll work hard on the council, too.
I think I have shown great initiative by starting two committees that greatly benefitted the town.
I believe I have shown I can work well with everyone. I believe there is a balance between compromising and holding firm to your convictions.
What do you see as the top three issues or priorities for this position?
After knocking on almost 1,500 doors in town, I believe we have a good sense of what the residents feel.
We have found addressing our senior residents' needs, downtown beautification, and better communication from town leadership are major concerns with residents.
With the first two years of the new town council form of government nearly complete, how do you feel the structure has worked and what changes, if any, would you call for if elected?
I was one of many that voted for a change in the structure of government. I am extremely happy to hear such positive feedback from other town administrators such as CPD, DPW, CFD, Schools and our Library. They appreciate the professionalism from at Town Manager.
The change comes from a more proactive council.
