08/22/2021 12:00 AMOn Aug. 21, East Haven Police Department (EHPD) notified residents of a Mandatory Evacuation zone alert issued to residents on streets in coastal areas due to the oncoming storm Henri; residents can move to regional storm shelters at North Branford High School and Career High School (New Haven). Covid testing will be available on site.
The following details were shared by EHPD:
Please be advised, the following streets are in a mandatory evacuation zone. This evacuation has to be completed by 9 PM tonight. Please note that if you are in an evacuation area and you choose not to evacuate, emergency crews will NOT be able to get to you until the storm subsides.

Residents who need to re-locate can utilize regional shelters at the North Branford Intermediate School on Foxon Road available at 6PM and Career High School on Legion Avenue in New Haven available at 7PM. Evacuees are encouraged to stay with family or friends rather than use shelters. COVID testing will be on-site for evacuees.
