The East Haven Proud Parade and Concert that was set to kick off from the Town Green at noon has been canceled due to the approach of Hurricane Henri.

The town made the announcement via its Everbridge alert system and on Facebook, where Mayor Joseph Carfora posted this message:

“Due to the nature of the incoming storm Henri and after consultation with our Emergency Management Director Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli and evaluation of all available information from state emergency management officials, we are forced to cancel the East Haven Proud Parade and Concert scheduled for today. The event will be rescheduled to a later date.”
