Police Searching for Two After Armed Bank Robbery at Madison Stop & Shop
An armed robbery at the People’s Bank in Stop & Shop in Madison has police looking for two suspects, who held up the bank at around 2 p.m. this afternoon according to Madison Police Captain Joe Race.
Police are on the lookout for two white male suspects, 6’ and 6’2”, who fled in a “newer model” white four-door Ford F-150, according to Race. Both suspects wore masks and gloves, and one of the suspects displayed a handgun in the course of the robbery, according to Race.
There were no injuries reported during the incident, Race said. The robbers left via the pharmacy side entrance of the grocery store, and were last seen driving east on Samson Rock Drive.
Though the suspects had left by the time police arrived, Race said that there were “some really good witnesses” who helped officers quickly work through security camera footage of the robbery.
“They were in and out very quickly,” Race said.
Some commenters on social media said they were not even aware of a robbery taking place until police arrived.
The Connecticut Bankers Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information about the robbery can contact the Madison Police Department at 203-245-6561.
