Talking Turkey in the Rain

Stephanie Hudson, a volunteer who organizes other volunteers who make and deliver holiday Food Baskets for Madison Community Services (MCS), rolls out a cart of frozen turkeys to be delivered on Nov. 23 to families and individuals in Madison who needed a bit of extra of help this year putting a meal on their Thanksgiving table.

Hudson said the number of baskets, which this year included a frozen turkey with a gift card to buy the rest of the meal, was about the same as last year, but that there were more individuals and fewer families this year.

MCS was founded by town residents during the Great Depression to help neighbors in need, and remains a private organization. To find out more and how to help, visit madisoncommunityservices.org/about-us.
