Election 2020: Madison Poll Information
Voters heading to the polls in Madison on Tuesday, Nov. 3 (or in advance by absentee ballot) will select their candidates for president and vice president, representative in Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters.
All voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot for the 2020 election by checking the COVID-19 excuse on the application. Although absentee ballot applications have been mailed to every eligible voter, they are also available in English and Spanish at myvote.ct.gov/absentee. Voters can check their registration status at myvote.ct.gov/lookup.
Voting by mail is just one option. Voting in person is the other option, and town officials are doing everything they can to make sure it is safe. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; absentee ballots can also be dropped in the secure drop box in front of Town Hall until 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
Profiles of all candidates who’ve chosen to participate are in our Online Voters Guide, along with all The Source’s elections coverage and political letters, can be found at www.zip06.com/election. Candidates who have not yet participated in the guide should send an email with subject line “voter guide” to l.robida@shorepublishing.com ASAP.
Polling Sites
The District 1 polling site has moved from the Senior Center to Polson Middle School at 302 Green Hill Road, Perry and Gowanlock said. All registered District 1 voters should get to Polson on Nov. 3 if they want to cast an in-person ballot, not the Senior Center.
Simultaneously, however, the Senior Center will be used for Election Day registrations for people who need to register and then cast a vote at the same time because they moved districts or moved from out-of-town and were not able to update their registration information.
District 2 voting remains at Brown Intermediate School, 980 Durham Road.
Details on voting, including forms and the online registration system, can be found at the Town of Madison website www.madisonct.org.
