Branford-Based ESDHD Announces Drive-Through Flu Vaccine Clinics
A drive-through flu vaccination clinic is set for Saturday, Sept. 26 in Branford, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., according to a notification shared by East Shore District Health Department (ESDHD)and the Town of Branford. The clinic will be held at ESDHD, 688 East Main St. in Branford. Other clinics in the area are planned for October and November. ESDHD serves as the health department for the towns of Branford, North Branford and East Haven.
Drive-through flu vaccination participants need to bring a completed ESDHD consent flu form downloaded from the ESDHD website together with a copy of their insurance card, and wear short sleeves. All participants must wear a mask.
ESDHD has also set up the following additional drive-through flu vaccination clinics and locations, which will follow the same guidelines as above: Monday Oct. 5, 1 - 5 p.m. Branford Community House, 46 Church St., Branford; Thursday Oct. 15, 2:30 - 4:40 p.m. Old Stone Church, 251 Main St., East Haven; Monday Oct. 26, 2 - 5 p.m. ESDHD, 688 East Main St. Branford; Monday Nov. 16, 2 - 5 p.m. ESDHD, 688 East Main St. Branford; Monday Nov. 30, 2 - 5 p.m. ESDHD, 688 East Main St. Branford.
ESDHD notes vaccine will be available while supplies last; including preservative-free quadrivalent vaccine; high dose/senior strength vaccine; nasal vaccine for those under 49 year of age without asthma or are immunocompromised; and egg-free vaccine. The ESDHD consent form lists the following vaccine private pay rates: Quadrivalent Vaccine $35; High Dose Vaccine $55; Flublok $55.
Participating insurances are Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS), CIGNA, ConnectiCare, Harvard Pilgrim, Husky, Medicaid, United Healthcare; and for those 65 and over, Medicare Part B, Aetna Medicare, Anthem BCBS Medicare, ConnectiCare VIP and United Healthcare Managed Medicare Plans.
