Important Election Announcement from the Chester, Deep River, and Essex Town Clerks
While the polls will be open on Tuesday, Nov. 3 for the presidential election, absentee balloting will again be available for COVID reasons. The secretary of the state will be sending absentee ballot applications out to every registered voter sometime in September. Ballots do not become available until Friday, Oct. 2. Those who have not received an application by the end of September and wish to vote by absentee ballot should call their town clerk. Ballot drop boxes will again be available for dropping off both applications and ballots; voters shouls be sure to drop them in the town in which they are registered to vote. Every effort is being made to keep the polls clean and safe for all who prefer to vote in person at their town’s poll .
