Members of the North Branford Fire Department Company 1 were out in front of the North Branford Town Hall on Sept. 12 collecting donations for the upkeep and maintenance of their building. The firehouse is owned by members of Company 1 and they depend on this annual event to keep things running. Here, Chris Crotty, Jake Houston, and Shawn Halligan accept donations on Route 80.

The town owns the trucks, and apparatus, but the firehouse is owned by members of Company 1 and these funds help them with the upkeep and general construction like updating the bathrooms, kitchen, etc. Members of Company 1 would like to thank all who gave over the weekend and those who donated by mail, they depend on this annual event to keep things running.Photo by Kelley Fryer/The Sound
