Branford Plans Some Polling Place Changes, Use of COVID-19 Protocols for Presidential Preference Primary
July 24,2020: Due to the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, some Branford polling places have changed for the August 11, 2020 Presidential Preference primary to maximize safety, security and ease of voting. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for registered Democrat and Republican voters who have not previously voted by absentee ballot.
Districts 1 and 5 will vote at the Community House, 46 Church Street. Districts 2, 3 and 7 will vote at St. Therese Church Hall, 105 Leetes Island Road. Districts 4 and 6 will vote at Branford Firehouse, 45 North Main St.
In addition, the following safety precautions have been implemented for poll workers and voters: all voters should wear a face covering; all poll workers will be wearing face shields or have table shields; markings will be placed on the floors to assist with social distancing (stay 6 feet apart); voting booths will be appropriately spaced; voters will be given their own individual, one-time use pen to fill out the ballot.
