EHPD Investigating Drive-By Shooting on Main Street

Earlier today, the East Haven Police Department responded to the area of Main Street and Harrington Avenue for reports of shots fired in the area. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined that an occupant of a black Range Rover SUV, traveling eastbound on Main Street, fired several rounds at an individual standing on the sidewalk on Main Street.

Video surveillance of the incident shows the intended target run across Main Street toward Harrington Avenue while the Range Rover fled east bound on Main Street before turning into the McDermott Chevrolet parking lot. The vehicle is seen traveling through the parking lot at a high rate of speed before turning right onto Frontage Road Westbound.

The East Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division responded and processed the scene. Several bullets were found lodged in the exterior of the Village Restaurant, 699 Main Street. No one inside the restaurant, which was open for business at the time was injured.

The East Haven Police Department believes this is an isolated incident, which remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident, including video surveillance, is asked to contact Sergeant Jeffrey Vailette at 203-468-3829.
