North Haven Crossfit Joins CCEH Charity Workout Challenge
North Haven Crossfit announced today that it will be joining the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) Charity Workout Challenge by asking members to work out for a good cause.
The gym’s charity workout will take place Saturday, May 16 at 9 a.m. and will be available on North Haven Fitness’s Facebook page. Owners Kurt and Courtney Garceau will open up their Crossfit workout to the public and ask participants to donate in lieu of payment for participation.
“It feels great to stay fit and help others at the same time,” said Courtney Garceau. “Crossfit is all about helping people improve their well-being, so what better way to do that than to help both fitness enthusiasts and people experiencing homelessness through this difficult time.”
CCEH Director of Advocacy and Crossfit North Haven member Sarah Fox agreed.
“We all need to come together at difficult times for ourselves and our communities,” said Fox. “I am both thrilled and grateful that people across Connecticut and even the country will be able to come together to help us house our clients.”
Funds raised during North Haven’s charity workout will provide emergency assistance to rehouse the roughly 2,000 people in Connecticut shelters during the pandemic. Visit North Haven Crossfit’s Gofundme page for more information.
