Branford State Rep. Comey Seeking 'Community Heroes' Nominations
State Representative Robin Comey (D, District 102 - Branford) announced on April 17 a program to honor local friends and neighbors who are going above and beyond helping others during the coronavirus pandemic.
The initiative, Nominate a Community Hero, is seeking nominations to recognize individuals, first responders, health care workers, teachers, children or youth helping each other, and anyone who is doing a great job for others behind the scenes.
"I am thrilled to promote this initiative in the 102nd district," Rep. Comey said. "I have heard so many great stories of acts of kindness that deserve to get featured. This is a perfect way to spread a little kindness during this difficult time as we work together promoting our strengths and positive attitudes."
Community Heroes will be featured regularly on social media platforms and on Rep. Comey's website and electronic correspondence.
Rep. Comey said, "I encourage everyone to start sending their nominees right away. I can't wait to read the heartwarming stories. Without a doubt, there are many individuals that have gone above and beyond and deserve to be spotlighted."
To participate, please send the nominee's name, picture, street address, email or phone number, and two sentences as to how they have made our community stronger during the pandemic to robin.comey@cga.ct.gov.
Robin Comey is serving her first legislative term in the Connecticut General Assembly representing Branford's 102nd Assembly District. She is vice chair of the legislature's Children Committee and a member of the Education and Public Health Committees.
