The Nest Coffee House went live via social media in April to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month. Despite the storefront being closed due to COVID-19, The Nest Coffee House decided to forge ahead with plans for a month-long celebration of neurodiversity.

“At The Nest and A Little Compassion, Inc. (ALC), we are taking autism acceptance one step further and celebrating neurodiversity,” said ALC Executive Director Jane Moen. “We are proud to be a part of the neurodiversity movement that views individuals with autism and other cognitive or neurological impairments simply as people with normal human differences in how they see and interact with the world. In other words, we are celebrating uniqueness and possibility.”

Neurodiversity advocate Jillian Noyes said “As part of their mission, ALC hears the voices of neurodiverse individuals and wishes to lift them up with the ‘I am Infinite’ campaign. They are encouraging everyone to help break the stigma that so many neurodiverse individuals face every day. Together as a community they hope everyone will see individuals with autism or other neurodiversities as individuals brimming with possibilities and possessing limitless potential…They are infinite.”

To celebrate neurodiversity and a multitude of infinite possibilities, the public is invited to participate from their own homes via social media.

The Nest Coffee House doors and windows are covered with “I am Infinite” messages already since its employees got a head start on the campaign. The messages can be seen at 162 Main Street in Deep River.

To participate in the I Am Infinite campaign, participants can download the Autism Acceptance Infinity pdf from www.thenestcoffeehouse.org and print it out, finish the sentence “I am infinitely_________” on the paper, then take a picture of themselves holding the paper (or just the paper) and post it to a Facebook or Instagram page (or both). Include the hashtags #iaminfinite, #infiniteacceptance, #neurodiversity, and #thenestcoffeehouse.
