Three Arrested in East Haven for Breaking into Cars
Two men and a juvenile are under arrest in East Haven after police received a report of three males attempting to break into vehicles on Feb. 19.
According to East Haven Police, officers were called to the area of Deerfield and Frank Streets at 1:09 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Police had received a report of three males attempting to break into vehicles. While police arrived quickly, the suspects had already left the area.
A short time later Officer William Coppola observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by three males in the parking lot of Forbes Fuel, 81 Frontage Road. A COLLECT check of the vehicle, a blue Ford Focus, showed that the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of West Haven. Coppola, with the assistance of Officer Jimmy Nguyen, stopped the vehicle without incident or pursuit, and all three occupants were detained.
The occupants were identified as Martin Ramos-Romero, 18, of West Haven, Marquel Rogers, 24, of New Haven, and an unidentified juvenile.
After speaking with the occupants, they confessed to being the three males who were breaking into vehicles earlier in the evening. They were placed under arrest and transported to the East Haven Police Department for processing.
Ramos-Romero, Rogers, and the juvenile were each charged with larceny in the second degree, burglary in the third degree, conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
Ramos-Romero and Rogers were each held on a $10,000 bond and faced a judge on Feb. 19 in New Haven. The juvenile was issued a juvenile court date and was turned over to a guardian.
