‘Days for Girls’ Hosts Sew-a-Thon to Benefit Girls in Kenya
Days for Girls hosted a Sew-a-Thon, kit assembly, soup lunch, and presentation on Feb. 15 at the Zion Episcopal Church in North Branford. Participants sewed, ironed, and prepared supplies for needed materials in Kenya. Here, Mukund Nori works with his daughter Rita, 3, as he lines up fabric to be cut by a template. Rita is turning the crank to help move the fabric to be cut.
Hosted by Ralph Stroup, MD, and Mary Ann Stroup, Days for Girls has been working in Kenya to build health care infrastructure, clean water, empower women, and help educate children. The sew-a-thon helps to provide girls with quality, reusable feminine hygiene products so they can remain in school. For more information, visit www.daysforgirls.org.
