I-95 Re-opens after Truck Fire in Guilford

A truck accident and fire on I-95 north between closed down the interstate between exits 57 and 58 for about an hour, including the on ramp from Route 77 on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Guilford police vehicles had blocked off the exit, and officers directed traffic, which backed up significantly on Route 77 as residents sought alternate routes.

A Guilford police department spokesman said the interstate and on ramp had re-opened as of about 12:30 p.m. He said he could not provide any more details about the incident at this time.
