Freda to be Honored by New Reach

On Thursday, Aug. 8, North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda will be honored for his commitment to the families and individuals served by New Reach at New Reach’s annual Summer on the Sound event held at the Owenego Inn Beach & Tennis Club, 40 Linden Avenue, Branford. The event, an old-fashioned barbecue, begins at 6 p.m. with entertainment to be provided by the St Luke’s Steel Band. All proceeds will benefit New Reach’s Life Haven shelter.

New Reach, based in New Haven, inspires independence for those affected by homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing and support using the most innovative and progressive methods. New Reach’s vision is all children, families and individuals in Connecticut find a safe, secure affordable home with the services and supports necessary to achieve a fulfilling, self-reliant life.
