Women & Family Life Center Asked to Join Governor’s Council on Women and Girls
Women & Family Life Center was recently asked to join the Governor’s Council on Women and Girls. Recognized for its work along the shoreline to advance opportunities for women and girls, Women & Family Life Center will serve on the Subcommittee on Health and Safety. In addition, Meghan Scanlon, Women & Family Life Center’s executive director, will serve on the steering committee in support of the Health and Safety Subcommittee.
“We are honored to have been asked to join the Governor’s Council and we look forward to working with partners, both local and statewide, to develop initiatives that support healthy lifestyles and offer physical, mental, and emotional protection for women and girls. I am excited that Women & Family Life Center has a seat at the table and we are ready to get to work on behalf of the women and families we serve,” said Scanlon.
The first meeting of the Steering Committee was on July 10 at the State Capitol in Hartford.
