Assessor Representative Visiting Old Saybrook Businesses
On Monday, July 22, Luke Parker, a personal property appraiser representing the Town of Old Saybrook, will begin visiting all businesses in Old Saybrook for the purpose of listing, depreciating, and appraising all business personal property. This is part of the town’s regular, required 10-year review of all business personal property.
The personal property review will begin in outlying areas such as Spencer Plain Road and work toward the center of town. It will be helpful and appreciated for businesses to produce an asset list of all equipment showing purchase date, make, and model as well as acquisition cost. This review will not take the place of the regular, annual personal property declaration filing required of all businesses. Businesses will still receive their declarations in the fall as scheduled and are expected to return them by Nov. 1 as required by state statute to avoid any filing penalties.
Business owners with questions should call the Office of the Assessor located at the Old Saybrook Town Hall at 860-395-3137.
