Madison Students Perform as Winners of the Renée B. Fisher Competition
Outstanding piano students from across the state performed at the Neighborhood Music School (NMS) in New Haven on May 11 as winners of the 42nd annual Renée B. Fisher Competition for Young Pianists. Among them were Madison residents Jeffery Liang, who received first prize and best performance of a commissioned work in the Elementary/Middle School division and Seorin Kim, who received second prize in the elementary/middle school division. All of the winners performed piano masterworks and commissioned works by George Stevenson and Heeyoung Yang, winners of the 2019 Fisher Composers Awards.
