03/27/2019 08:30 AMThe Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously approved an application for special permit submitted by Janice Liscinsky to operate her dog training business The Perfect Pup at 500 Main Street in the CT Valley Industrial & Professional Park at the commission’s March 21 meeting.
Liscinsky, a Deep River resident, is currently operating her business out of Branford and hopes to be fully up in running in Deep River by June.
An instructor certified by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers and an honors graduate of Animal Behavior College, Liscinsky will offer puppy kindergarten and basic dog manners classes in the evenings in addition to private classes.
Liscinsky also helps train dogs at the East Haven Animal Shelter, preparing puppies as well as older dogs for their adoptive homes.
“What I like best about this is that it is a business that will bring people from other towns into Deep River, so they can see how wonderful it is,” said First Selectman Angus McDonald. “Hopefully, those people will visit our shops and restaurants while they are here.”
